What to Give Your Massage or Spa Clients at the Holidays
Treating your clients to a little gift at this time of the year is a lovely gesture; it also shows them that you appreciated their custom and hopefully encourages them to visit you again in the new year. But – how much is too much when you’re planning your Christmas gifts, and should you use them as a marketing opportunity or just keep things simple?
Just offering your clients a small bonus treatment or an upgrade to their usual treatment for no charge is a small way of saying thank you that doesn’t involve much expense to you, but can give your clients a warm glow. When you make a client feel truly valued, they will remember the feeling and it should encourage them to re-book. The client also gets an added extra and everyone is happy. Send out emails offering a Christmas bonus, and even better, why not give them an option? A free hand treatment, a scalp massage or anything else you can easily add on to a facial or skin care treatment work well.
You can also give clients a free gift they can take away. Small inexpensive gifts like soaps, bath and body products or promotional lip balms are always a winner. You can either choose products that aren’t flying off the clinic shelves and that way you can shift older stock to make room for newer products, or go for a small version of a product that fits with their treatment, encouraging them to try it and then hopefully buy from you on their next visit?
If giving a gift to every client isn’t something you want or can afford to do, you could make the gift giving into a novelty by wrapping up a few items and putting them under a tree, then offering a gift from the tree for every client who spends over a specific amount of money. It’s a great way of using up products that don’t sell, or you could buy in special small gifts if you prefer? Add in a few vouchers towards a full price treatment for repeat clients to win.
Another nice way of giving something back is a prize draw. You could offer luxury baskets of goodies and more expensive skin care gifts, a gift voucher for a more expensive treatment, and anything else you think that your clientele would appreciate, and list them as prizes in a raffle. Anyone who books a treatment between the dates you set gets a free entry into the draw, and extra tickets can be purchased for a small amount. Choose a charity to give the proceeds of any ticket sales to and then you can have a grand prize draw on the last day before the Christmas holiday.
Get creative with holiday gift-giving and your clients will remember you.
